Today's day will take you from Tavullia, home of motors, to spectacular natural scenery carved out by water.

Tavullia

If you are a fan of Valentino Rossi and motorcycling, Tavullia is a must-do stop on your list. Start by visiting the Madonna del Monte Shrine, and then find along the way the Valentino Rossi Monument and one of the many murals dedicated to the champion. Find free parking along the walls and approach the castle gate and then visit and shop at the VR46 Store. Nearby you will also find the themed Yellow Park, and another interesting spot is St. Lawrence Parish. If you're really geeky, retrieve your car and head to Rossi Motor Ranch — who knows, you might get to see the champion go around the track!

Marmitte dei Giganti

Park at the Marmitte dei Giganti parking lot and walk to them. Admire the gorges that the Metauro River has carved out, a faithful companion that will accompany you during most of the rest of the journey. Proceed with caution if you descend toward the river.

Furlo Gorge

Head to a naturalistic gem of this area, the Furlo Gorge. The Romans passed through here and left their mark with Vespasian's Gallery. Visit the gorge by car or park at the beginning to stroll along the pedestrian street. Don't miss the Church of Santa Maria delle Grazie and the Roman Gallery, and get lost in the views of the gorge. If you have more days to spare and enjoy trekking, you will have something for all tastes and levels here.
